The Datejust launched in 1945 as the first self-winding wristwatch with a date in a window, and the Jubilee bracelet was designed for it that same year. It has been Rolex's most recognisable model ever since.

This Datejust 36 wears an Oystersteel case with an 18ct Everose gold fluted bezel and a pink dial with Roman numerals, the VI and IX set with diamonds. Calibre 3235 inside, on a Jubilee bracelet in Oystersteel and Everose gold.

Fun fact: the date at three o'clock jumps instantly at midnight, a Rolex detail since the 1950s that the Cyclops lens magnifies two and a half times.

Rolex launched the Datejust in 1945, the company's fortieth year, as the first self winding chronometer wristwatch to indicate the date in a window on the dial. The Jubilee bracelet was made for that watch and named for the anniversary, and it carries the same name today. The Cyclops lens over the date and the fluted bezel are the other two tells, though smooth and gem set bezels and the Oyster bracelet sit alongside them. The line now runs from the Lady-Datejust at 28 mm through 31, 36 and 41 mm, in steel, in gold and in the two combined, across a wide spread of dials.
