Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph (Black)

The Royal Oak chronograph arrived late, in 1997, twenty-five years after the base model, and spent most of its life on an outsourced module. The 26240 of 2022 replaced the 26331 and finally brought the integrated in-house calibre to the steel versions, which had until then been served last.

This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph wears a 41mm steel case with a black tapisserie dial and matching black counters. Calibre 4401 inside, on a steel bracelet.

Fun fact: calibre 4401 reached the pink gold 41mm chronographs a year before the steel ones. It is a flyback, so the chronograph resets and restarts on a single push without stopping first.
