Code 11.59 is the round Audemars Piguet, launched in 2019 to prove the house is not only the Royal Oak. The case is an octagonal middle held between a round bezel and caseback, with a domed sapphire curved at its edges.

This Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 wears a 41mm 18k white gold case with a blue aventurine perpetual calendar dial. Automatic calibre 5134 inside.

Fun fact: Aventurine is glass, not stone, made by suspending copper flakes in a molten batch and cooling it slowly so they crystallise. The technique was a Murano accident of the seventeenth century, which is where the name comes from, from the Italian for by chance.

The round Audemars Piguet that turns octagonal from the side

CODE 11.59 launched in 2019, the first wholly new collection the house had introduced since 1993, and round where the Royal Oak is octagonal. Seen face-on, it reads as a plain round watch, but from the side the bezel sits on an octagonal middle case, and the hollowed, open-worked lugs attach to the bezel alone, floating clear of the case with a visible gap beneath them. The double-curved sapphire crystal is the other tell.
